T’lynx’tri sat in hotel’s lounge. His mind was jumping between thoughts, a gentle chiding that he had received from the certain respected family members brought a smile to his face. Between the fear and that name calling, somewhere he had to fight a duel to first blood. Over a misspoken word while the cousin seethed. Although he could have killed him, it was not the first time someone banter with him and took it farther than they should have. Although normally it was over Tempus and copious amounts of mead or the one thing the mortals got right “whiskey” It was the only things that could actually get under his skin. His brother and his honor.
T’lynx’tri had taken a page from Tempus’s book and used a human’s guise to look like himself only more normal. Looking in the mirror he still looked like a soldier, it was something about his look, He walked back up to his room and waved the clothes from existence. All of his clothes had the same, uniform like feel about them he almost evaporated the whole suitcase, but decided not to at the last second.
He decided that he just needed to change clothes. Maybe buy something that did not look like what he was wearing. That would work grabbing his leather bomber black jeans and a black graphic tee, of a death riding a Harley with green flames he walked out the door.

Lord hadn’t quite tracked down the invisible Regina but he knew he would. He knew he was closer than he needed to be as the place smelled of cooling lion spore. He settled down absorbing the feel of the beast or beasts that had passed through the place. It was a detriment that the place was regularly cleaned. It was good to know that a place that served food was as clean as they were just in his current search their cleanliness and sheer traffic made things more difficult than he would have liked just yet.
The fey walking through the door was as equally off putting. Sighing he knew the polite thing to do would be to introduce himself. It was rude to do anything else. As a leader he could not afford to begin a war over an unintended slight especially as his was not a fully fortified kingdom or clan. They would be soon but in the now the only thing to do would be to make nice with everyone. Things might change especially if the fey was as big of a douche as the frown he wore suggested. He hoped not but stranger things happened.
Easing alongside the man he smiled saying, “You look as new here as me what do you think might be good?”

T'lynx'tri paused a second and looked over his shoulder at the lycnathrope. His otherworldness preceded him a few steps, T'lynx'tri briefly wondered what flavor he was. From the scouting missions he had done before he reached out to the master of the city he had not seen many stronger than he was. It could provide an interesting diversion if he could spend some time looking through his eyes. Perhaps it would bring to a close a long standing disagreement that he and Tempus have had over the virtures and vices of the human condition.
"Personally I would think of something fleshy, maybe a bird of some type. but for you..." T'lynx'tri paused to give a glance over the other man. "maybe something a bit heavier, you may want something that had four legs."
From his experience most lycanthrope ate heavy high protein foods. as they needed to nearly gorge themselves just to stay on their feet. The idea as he was dressed in something decided less uniform like gave T'lynx'tri an idea. "Say would you happen to know where I could acquire some clothes that are different than what I am wearing."
The worst that he could do would be find some clothes that he hated and would vaporize later. the best outcome would be more information about the city that he wanted to dissect before he decided where the leafs fell.

Lord could swim with the meanest sharks. In fact he enjoyed the company judging by the fey’s demeanor he would much rather run with the wolves than swim. The look he had was as if he was sizing everyone up for a bullet or sword stroke. It made Lord think of how predatory Nicholas was and in truth how much so much of him that seemed beast was his upbringing. It was an eat or be eaten world he could hack it. In fact things were seeming to look up for him. The paperwork that had kept the club from opening had swung his way all it took was several hefty donations. Again to be expected if you wanted to ride sometimes you had to pay the toll.
"I only eat heavy during my time of the month…" Lord laughed at the veiled alluding to his beast from the fey. He had to admit that it wasn’t as poetic as he had been taught to believe they could be. But from the man’s dress it was obvious he wasn’t the silk shirt and shining armor sort of fey. No from his dress he would guess he was more of the Mel Gibson William Wallace sort. He was a front line blood in the mud sort. Lord was surprised that half his face wasn’t blue or that he left home without his claymore and buckler.
"I know a few tailors that might be willing to suit you up. But that will cost you a slice and a conversation…"
Moving with the line Lord eased up to the counter. Speaking to the lady at the register, “Me and my friend would like a pie half cheese and all the veggies you can find and the other half all the veggies and chicken.” Lord paused looking over his shoulder at the fey, “What do you want to drink; I’m having a Reed’s Premium?”

T’lynx’tri looked back at the man he held possibly the key to a diversion that would be a break that T’lynx’tri’s normal path. Before he even said anything he looked him over. Several different thoughts swept past but died on his lips as he remember that he was actually not in the in the world of the fey. He was in the world of the humans. The lycanthrope was doing his best to be nice. The least he could do was do the same. A slight smile broke the frozen emotionless visage.
“You know perhaps that would be a good Idea. I was told that I had to see what humans were before I could actually presume to know them.” Even to T’lynx’tri that sounded like a judgment rendered. That was not his plan. With an effort that would make Hercules proud he cleared his thoughts of how long it would take to sanitize the room. He looked back at the man who had offered aid.
“In the world of Fey normally one has to be wary of the open hand, if you understand.”
The look that he had in his eye said that he knew more than most what caution of the open hand. T’lynx’tri nodded to the man in lieu of the preoffered apology to the man.
“I think that cost would be more than fair…. Let’s start again.”
T’lynx’tri took a deep breath before he began. He would look at the man as more than the beast that he was taught to believe that there were. He would choose to try to be one of the wolves of the pack instead of the dire…. Well he could not change his spots that much but he could choose to embrace this new experience.
“My name is T’lynx’tri, make of it as you will. As mortals seem to shorten or otherwise alter my name into something easier to pronounce.”
T’lynx’tri left the door open for the powerful man beast to either take the olive branch or slap it away. As he did not really interact much with humans, it was mostly because he never saw a reason to do more than a brief recon or to put them down. But this was a new city, and not every human was a dragon in disguise.
“ I never had Reed’s I think I will try that as well.”

Lord sighed as the fey out of hand ruled out all of humanity. He knew those who were arrogant to act in such manners. He resisted the impulse to damn it all and walk. It was all too easy to hurt a fey especially one who wasn’t as caught up on humanity and the modern age. Lord knew however you never hurt anything that you had no way to kill permanently. Before he’d made up his mind if that was the sort of enemy he’d care to make the fey had backtracked or as much as monsters ever did. No actual apology but a smoothing of words. It was enough especially as he had plans of meeting the roaming regina. That would be a fight in and of itself lionesses were notoriously cutting with their tongues. They were like wolves in temperament. They would accept a leader so long as they could challenge almost constantly to insure the leader was worthy of them.
“Reed’s is good ginger brew. Not too strong on the ginger and not strong on the sugar. It goes down like a truth a little crisp but clean.”
He hadn’t ordered anything alcoholic but only as he was still technically on the hunt he didn’t need his senses dulled. Especially if the wattage the fey was putting off was more than him puffing himself up.
“Its not just the fey world. Every place worth being has their own predators and most of them come baring teeth which some confuse with a smile.”
Smiling Lord illustrated the difference. A real smile such as his came with not debt or threat. The other came with strings and daggers attached.
“I thought we already did if you hadn’t noticed. And I wouldn’t unless you asked me to. Your name is your name. I grew up with mine and had all sort of jokes made at my expense because of it. The worst being I was named as I was because only God knew who my real father was. Names Lord by the way.”
As he spoke he watched the fey for any snicker or silent joke at his expense. It happened far too often. So far the only person to not betray a huge doubt was Nicholas but that was probably because he’d had him vetted back to the Stone Age.

T'lynx'tri understood that communication was a skill that he had allowed to deteriorate on the front line he was so used to communicate with looks and hand gestures. the use of words were of little to no value on the killing fields however it was why he left Chicago, he felt as if he had no value in the city. If T'lynx'tri could reinvent himself closer to the mask that his brother wore and communicate even a tenth of that proficiency he would mark that as a win in his book. While that would be a large if he would take that over never trying.
"Sounds interesting, i think it would be a... new experience for me, which I find harder and harder to come by."
T'lynx'tri listened as Lord told him his name, he really could not find anything to make fun of. T'lynx'tri quickly reviewed what Lord had said, but he could not find anything to find besides something that would be a petty put down or something to start a war over.
"Sorry human humor is something I am still working on. was a joke obfuscated in your words?"
T'lynx'tri knew words could start a war as it was as dangerous if not more than a the dagger or the sword. it was something learned at an early age. T'lynx'tri would have been back early had lord hot air had not misspoken constantly. the loss of life would have been minor if he could just shut his mouth.
"Your name requires you to work harder than most to live up to it. I wish you luck and continued success at that task."
T'lynx'tri looked out at the reflective mirror and sent a missive to Tempus showing him engaged in conversation with a human. which was something Tempus had marked as a flaw that T'lynx'tri had, he communicated as well as their troll ancestors were his direct words. with a small smile he turned his attention back to Lord.
"So where you a native to this city or a transplant?"

Lord chuckled smiling as he scanned the crowd about them. He wasn’t looking for anything more scratching a proverbial itch. No faces stood out no one seemed to be listening or paying any undue attention. They for all purposes were as invisible as they could be.
"I tend more towards hell than heaven, but yeah a lot of work."
As their pie came Lord moved with it to a table. Its location chosen because of its proximity to the two exits easily viewed as well as the one through the kitchen. Should their enemies find them it would be a hard thing to pin them down should it come to such things.
"Humor is something that’s a constant work in progress. Its ironic how most of it boils down to insulting the right person at the right time in the right measure."
He couldn’t be sure but as a look passed over his face Lord thought that T’lynx’tri might have recalled a few less than pleasant turns of phrases at his expense.
"As for being here I am a transplant. I come from Crooklyn originally. I was supposed to be out here for only a few weeks when I had the worst beating of my life handed to me. Its funny the guy who tried to save me ended up giving me my beast."
Shaking his head he looked at the pie then decided he would quell the beasts urge to take the lion’s share. He summoned the man sliding it more directly towards T’lynx’tri as he was paying.
"But what about you are you one of the royal families that came over with the Jefferson Act or here before then?"

T'lynx'tri watched Lord as he quickly scanned the crowd it was as if he was looking for something or perhaps someone. T'lynx'tri could have let him know that almost involuntarily his aura breathed a nearly invisible covering that more placed him and the people that T'lynxtri interacted with on the outside of everyone's perception. It was a latent ability that had uses, mainly to keep him alone. Of course it had its flaws, it only worked when people were not looking particularly for T'lynx'tri. "Heaven, Hell isn't it just a matter of perception?" T'lynx'tri shrugged in response to Lord's comment. Humor was truly outside of his wheelhouse. it was to long on the front with other warriors. An insult at the wrong time usually spiraled into brawl at best, at worst swords are drawn. As a captain no matter how it turns out it would be resources being wasted. So Humor was best left as a curiosity.
"Well my brother and I would be considered nobles of a ignoble house." T'ynx'tri smiled. " The ancestors had a less than pure blood so we are while we are nobles.. we are not." T'lynx'tri looked up into the glass mirrored ceiling. "I actually forgot which one of us was on the side of rebels, but I suspect that you have my brother to thank for putting whispers in the right ears."
