It had been some time since shed been in the city proper but shed never lost touch. Ghost had made her stay pleasant and shed almost thought not to come back but the fire in her blood dictated a need to race and be around her family. She'd returned and hed returned to his life with the promise they wouldnt loose track of each other but nothing more. No regrets no great professions of love and togetherness.
So it was here near the pits she found her self handling some business, it turned out there was a new player in town. A man people thought was hard to touch and some wanted him gone. Rumors flew that he was something out side of the norm and as he was stepping on the tails of some of those in her circle she had been picked to find out more. That meant knowledge and to get that she had her ways. The current manner was tied to a nylon cord above the pits upside down.
How he'd gotten there she found funny but he didn't and was currently screaming at her in his native tongue. " such language ..do you kiss your mother with that mouth all I want is a bit of Intel and Id let you go"
She would to right into the pits but he didn't have to know that, so many people went missing in LA what was one more and all the bones and things in the pits he'd never be identified.

“One I am not a new player. Two I have been around for years I have most recently opened up a store for wholesale. And three,” Lord said pausing to shoot the idiot who had allowed himself to not only get captured but was preparing to spill the few beans he held. “If you have any questions some of your club know how to reach me.” He didn’t bother to place his gun away as the threat was far more effective that he was here on business. Though he had taken care of the reason he had come he might as well see if D was as good as they said. If so he could offer her a way to make some extra cash and use her as he had most of his crew to offset any notice tossed in his direction.
“So D, as you’ve heard a few whispers about me anything I should know about you that this,” He said motioning with the gun in his hand about them. “Doesn’t say. Especially as far as I know you’re muscle not management and never involved with the drug trade.” Dressed as he was he knew it would be hard for anyone to see him as anything but a gun. His jeans were old well used same for his coat and hat. They were all thrift store finery purchased with cash months ago. He kept such items around in the off chance he had to put in some work. They were untraceable and nondescript. They were also so far removed from his day to day dress that anyone who knew of him wouldn’t make the connection between him and them even if their life depended on it.

The sound of gunfire didn't really phase her she cut the man loose watched him drop and then turned to face the man. Seems people had big mouths, because the same people who knew she had his guy had told him she did and got him out here. If he really thought she was just one dimensional muscle then he was proving a couple things right off the bat but she didn't dissuade him from his assumptions. The things he was trying to tell her tho she laughed over.
" first If you were around for a while then people would know more about you and you'd have had a run in with the other major players in the town by now since your on their blocks. Mostly the Chinese and we both know they normally dont play so nice. Second if you wernt newer to this then the other side of LA would also have mentioned you as they keep an eye on everything.. Im only just getting ripples of actions taken but yet you seem to think you know me so what does that tell you?"
Head tilting and not taking the gun personally, and if he thought shed come out here to the pits completely with out a back up when things could go so wrong he wasn't who he claimed to be. She knew even if he raised the gun hed never get to make the shot but again wouldn't be something she told him. " seems your guy has a soft spot for phat butts and easy targets it didn't take me much to lure him away from his post I only had to hint that he'd get what he wanted and I coulda put a leash on him"
Arms crossing she tossed her hair back but looked at him to see what he'd come back with.

Lord waited until the body dropped before going on. He looked at her really looked at her and knew the best thing for her would be to work for him. He would take his time making the offer because the last thing he would do would be to extend a job offer she was in position to accept.
“The truth is no one pays attention to the corner. And for a very longtime that’s all I let anyone think about me. Everyone that knows me knows me as just one thing. This all the noise that’s starting is because those same racist motherfuckers are finally realizing that the corner boy they thought was a nobody had been stacking his chips. But most importantly that they underestimated him. And dumb motherfuckers like him," He pointed towards the pit with the barrel of his gun. “Running their mouths. That’s one of the reasons dumb motherfuckers like him were only allowed to know so much. Keeping quiet is the only true loyalty that counts its why I my crew move like shadows. Its why we have been here the whole time growing like a plague without anyone noticing until now. Fucking haters. They coming out of the woodwork because they are just coming around that it ain’t what they thought it was.” Chuckling he put his gun away. Her show of tough girl swag making him laugh. Unlike the vast bulk of posers, hood rats and hood bunnies she actually had a rep for more than being on her back or being able to twerk while taking the rod. She had a rep for putting in work he could respect that. He knew she probably could give two shits what happened in the drug game but a paycheck was a paycheck.
Her calm pulse and the cockiness in her stance meant that she had a good grasp on the situation if the rumors were true within two-hundred yards was someone watching on her say so to rain bullets down on him. He took it as a compliment that she had planned ahead." Look there ain’t nothing between us but air so if we were gonna wet each other we would have already. You got questions for the jackasses for whoever is tossing you money ask. Otherwise stop hunting down the weak links in my business. Its not healthy for them or you. You got some badasses on your side holding you down. But we both know bullets fly straight."
Crossing the distance he closed to a more conversational distance. He was sure that his boy’s had him covered and with him closing on her would surely have them scanning the area. It wouldn’t take them long to cover him. Being closer he was able to mark her scent as well as gauge her emotional responses clearer.

Her smile never left but she watched him just as close as he did her. He had a point if they wanted to kill each other they would have but that didn't mean eventually it might not happen. Lip licked as he offered her the questions she had been about to ask his lackey. " They want to know why now? Also how you planned to keep the blocks you took from them, when they are so well connected and can call in so many more men"
That she wanted to know as well, because the triad themselves were a bit full in ranks, its why the charters often worked with them and not stepped on their toes they would be out matched for sure. So unless you could call in some one bigger and badder on your side you tended to end up mince meat or a follower. They indeed were throwing her a little change but it was more of a do this and we wont hurt your ..fill in the blank.
So if he could do better then that, she might just side with him. Though the danger to all them with that would be if they found out she was working more then one angle.

Lord didn’t envy D’s position. She was literally in a make or break situation. She would either trust who ever was pulling her strings would stop once she gave them what they wanted; Or trust that Lord was as good as his invisibility these few years should show.
“Long time coming chicky. People are funny in the saddest way. They think anyone would get in this game to stay the same. Like the ghettos and jail cells they place us in is all we will ever strive for. Its ridiculous really. And its worse really because they think they can rent out the work instead of facing me head on. What was doesn’t have to be what will be. Change is the only inevitable and its about time they realized it." Lord realized he was stumping for political office and eased to a pause. Rubbing the itch in his goatee he struck back up.
“Heres my deal, for them stay out of my business and I will stay out of theirs the shit doesn’t have to change. They can still get their chop and we can all eat. Or they can keep trying to take bread out of me and my crews mouth. They keep it up and I will burn the farm down.” Placing his hands in his pockets Lord looked into D’s eyes. He wouldn’t go into details not especially as this was just the pitch. “And for you, being your own boss truly in every aspect. Not coerced into a tricky situation based on threats or someone elses ideas of whats a good use of your time, skill, and potential life.”
He could go into how he had managed to become the Triads major buyer or how he’d insinuated himself into the chain as the go to crew for weight. That his position in the food chain made it disastrous if he wasn’t around. While a good portion of the powers in the game thought he was one thing he had spent the last few years becoming something else entirely. Now he was In a position that made others nervous they were scrambling because they realized the steaks they were feeding on were just crumbs from his table.

If any one knew her position it was her but he had survived this long so maybe he had something, smirking she nodded and stretched languorously. Looking at him lip chewed " Ok then I will take them your offer and if they do not shoot the messenger then I will come let you know both there answer and my own but for my own part its more yes then no with some more details."
She stood to her feet and sauntered toward her bike and looked back at him with a considering look, soft chuckling and mounting her bike in a swift smooth move. Waiting to see if he had anything else to say then calling out" So Im sure I can find a way but how do I reach you ?"
Waiting in putting on her helmet till he answered, her back up would leave after she was clear and make sure she wasn't fallowed. When their business was concluded he put her helmet on and kick started her baby and turned on a dime then left him to watch her dust cloud.

Lord appreciated her candor as well her unwilling to speak for what she had no true grasp of. Tabling the matter was about all that could be reasonably asked. Lord had not made a place for himself by taking unnecessary risks. He wasn’t holding out hope that those that pulled her chain would take his offer lightly but millions stood to be lost if they didn’t. And while they might think he was bluffing he never did. He always meant what he said. It was why he could afford to be calm in most situations. “That’s good, you do that. If you want to get at me you can reach me at The Temple, it’ll be opening soon but I can still be reached there. Just ask for me…"
As she moved to her bike Lord shook his head no so that his crew wouldn’t take te moment once she was further from him to take her bike from beneath her. He wasn’t in the business of leaving enemies be when it would be more profitable to end them. She wasn’t an enemy she was a tool being used by one but one he would deal with in time. First things first he would out maneuver them by holding his hand just yet. He needed to find the Regina he’d sniffed out a few weeks ago and press her to see the state of affairs the local Pride was in. " If you need some aid look me up even if they don’t give you an answer."

It was a lot harder than it looked and the timing had to be impeccable. One minor error and he could cause the significant harm to himself or the Rex level lion as such Cappie watched and waited until the red-haired human had left on her way. Just as she was out of range he swooped in faster than a speeding bullet as the saying went. Swooping in he grabbed the lion lifting him into the air faster than the eye could follow. It mitigated the snipers posted not far enough away to be unaccounted for. The man knew his tactics so to did the human woman. He didn’t care what business they were attempting to conduct. Not one whit he was merely here to fulfill what he had not as of yet and that was having the Rex meet with Nicholas. It was a snatch and grab and one that would on face value seem haphazard. It wasn’t. He had waited and watched from above as the parties closed on each other their forces dancing around each other even as the two obvious leaders spoke.
It was as he took into account the snipers posted that Cappie hit on the idea. It would require a good deal of precision but it was possible. So he did. Dive bombing the earth at speeds that had his clothing flapping around him threatening to be torn from him due to wind friction alone. He pulled up and away just before crashing into the earth at a subsonic speed. The lion could not have been prepared for such a tactic. It was one of the reasons why most vampires met inside some structure to prevent such actions. Lycanthropes would never learn they believed in their abilities without taking into account of any other monsters abilities.
Once they were high enough he began moving toward the Oviatt with Nicholas’s guest in tow. “Good evening your Rexship. Someone would like to speak with you.” Cappie yelled over the roar of the wind racing past them. He knew that the Rex’s natural inclination would be to fight it was why he didn’t dare slow down. Quick healing was not impervious he was trusting that anyone cautious enough t have snipers overwatching a meeting would work the angles pretty quickly.

Lord did a quick bit of calculating in his head as he was snatched into the air. If this was his last ride he would at least admire the view. They were moving too quickly to really take everything in but he was able to count that they were moving towards the Downtown area. It was a place he stayed away from and had planned on staying away from until he’d truly had a grip on the dope game. He had a huge slice of the pie but in the end there were still too many slices floating around to keep him out of a monopoly. It was rough going taking every thing into his control. Too many drug cowboys and girls looking to be the next dimestore Pablo Escobar. He knew it was only a matter of time until even his competitors were slinging his product paying his price and only his price.
There really wasn’t much to do in truth so Lord did what he could which was memorize the vampires scent. He memorized what he could and kept his mind nimble and loose. This was a meeting it had to be that as if he was to be killed there were other ways to do it. This was a strange way to make an appointment but he had heard things about the Master of the city that made this stunt nothing more than a polite request. In truth he almost admired the man especially as far as he knew from the many websites dedicated to this sort of thing he was the youngest Master in United States. It made what he was doing in the dope game a cheap mirror to holding an entire city. He was fine with being a knock-off at least for now. The dope game was international.
As they rushed towards the ground their speed slowing Lord composed himself asking his kidnapper now that they didn’t have to yell. “Whats your name chump?” He could speak a little clearer now that the risk of falling damage was almost none and very survivable.

It seemed longer than Nicholas would like, although he wondered what his next set of moves would be. as everyone was moving in the paths that was laid out for them, the only person that he did not have a feel for was the missing Rex, he had wondered if the new lion had killed Sasha, that would have been unfortunate as he was still weighing her value, it was not often that Nicholas involved himself with the day to day lives of the lycanthropes. He believed that they deserved their own freedoms to do what they must as long as it was within reason and if the city was in danger they would be willing to come to the cities defense. beyond that Nicholas allowed a live and let live philosophy as it concerned his lycanthropes. As Nicholas looked out over the dance floor the smell of Lion and the sea filled his nostrils. A quick scan showed Cappie and the lion that he was curious about. It was unexpected to say the least, Nicholas wanted Cappie to get and idea of the man before Nicholas made the decision to keep the guy around or the make sure he was never heard from again. To see the Rex level lion come to him was unexpected but it would be interesting to see what he would say about his absence from Nicholas court but he would have all the time that Nicholas could spare at this meeting. Nicholas pointed at the two of them and nodded, it was him silently granting them permission to come up to his V.I.P section.

Cappie expected more of a fight from the purported King of beasts. He was sadly let down. The man relaxed into his grip and took in the sights as if this was some pleasure flight. The thought of dropping the man unceremoniously was all too much so as they neared the ground he did just that. The chump remark wasn’t the catalyst so much as the man’s embracing of his situation and behaving as if it were an everyday occurrence. He was sure the man could easily land on his feet if he were paying attention if not then he would land sprawled on the concrete.
Cappie smiled as he glided to a gentle easy landing a few feet from the door. Opening it he bowed as if dropping the man was the easiest of accidents. A careless slip that he was simply to ashamed to address. Making up for his faux pas he held the door bowing some so the man could enter. As he did so he Cappie held the smirk that threatened instead saying “I am not sure what you think you know but I am not easily deceived.” He replied to the chump remark addressing the meaning of the word and not the implied vernacular insult. Especially as the words meaning held its own noteworthy affrontage. Cappie ignored the baiting as best as he could. He was sure Nicholas would eat the lion alive all the same.
Nodding to the less than able men moving on them Cappie allowed his smile to drift back to his face. “For what its worth to you mate of mine the names Captain Aloysius Pierce. ” He knew unlike many vampires his name was very easy to forget. It wasn’t a one name nomenclature or some long dead handle. He appreciated its rather mortal ease of use.

Vampires didn’t flinch and prepare the way living things did they simply did which was why it was always harder to read them physically. It was harder but not impossible. So as the blood thief tried dropping him Lord was prepared. Or more specifically he was prepared well before he hit the ground. Prepared or not his Pride was somewhat wounded. He knew better than to act on the emotion, at least now. He would however have his pound of flesh. He would simply bide his time. Especially as the vampire was doing his best to act as if it was simply nothing.
He wasn’t dressed for a big sit-down but his attire would have to be overlooked he had been about other business when he was kidnapped. So he shrugged moving alongside the vampire as he opened the door. Pausing he waited a fraction of a second as the vampire bowed. Pouring on speed moving from saunter to quick step and back he was even with vampire the door’s edge and his moment of opportunity all in one fell swoop. As the vampire pulled the door out and open Lord quick stepped into him or more pointedly his head the doors edge and a minor faux pas all at once. The vampire would heal. The door could be replaced.
Looking properly ashamed yet smug Lord apologized silently while out loud he said, “Your head okay? Having to catch my balance through me off. You sure you’re okay? Maybe you should put and ice pack on that door is pretty solid I might have bruised something. Thanks for trying to keep form hurting myself that was very selfless of you. I definitely owe you for that.” It wasn’t an apology though to the casual onlooker it would sound that way. Lord wasn’t a fool he knew that the real message of his actions would reach its audience. He was no ones punk and wouldn’t be treated as less. He was however smarter than the average. Let them think whatever they wanted so long as they acted accordingly.
Moving with the invite Lord walked up to the open secluded VIP area he walked in to meet the Big Bad that was the Master of the City. Walking in he felt his anger rising like the man was the anger magnet. He’d heard things about the man and had chosen to keep his distance until he had a better grasp of his own empire. Being kidnapped was not on his agenda. Too bad so sad he thought to himself as he dropped in the chair which was obvious for such meetings. “So. You must be the Master everyone is afraid of. I can see why. Most folks are always afraid of the bad guy especially if he looks like we do and has such a strong angry energy coming off him.” Pausing he looked the man in his eye. He wasn’t foolish enough to not know he was interviewing for his life. But he was smart enough to know that he had to pretend that he wasn’t. “So what can I do for you Mr. February?”

Nicholas watched as the lion had rammed Cappie’s head into the door. He almost raised an eyebrow as he flopped into the chair, almost flippantly addressed Nicholas and yet showed respect, it was all up to interpretation. Nicholas would evaluate that all at a later date. He had not expected Cappie to bring the lion back here as he wanted Cappie to look into the lion and decide if he was worth the energy that Nicholas was spending on him looking into the lycanthrope’s movements. As Cappie brought lord back it could be assumed that Cappie did vet the lion and found him worthy of an audience. Nicholas would tag this meeting as Cappie finding the lion worthy.
Nicholas raised one finger, not to the men but to the member of the wait staff to refresh his drink. As the goblet was filling he watched the reactions of the men before him. The smell would be unmistakable lycanthrope blood had a certain smell to it that made it different than any other type of blood it potency was almost worth the trouble of acquiring it. What was not offered that the donor of such blood was, at least until recently a member of the pride of San Diego. Between his screams he mentioned something of a new drug that was coming ashore. And that they thought that believed that Lord was pushing the drug across the boarders into San Diego as it would explain his rapid rise to prominence. It was a compelling mixture laced with Vampire blood. The Master of San Diego obviously sent the lion to eliminate Lord which would both hurt L.A’s power base as well as remove the threat.
If this was true then Nicholas needed to get information on who was making as well as selling this drug and if there was any potential for Nicholas to weaponize it, as well as turn a profit. Of course first thing first. Nicholas turned his attention to the Vampire in the room.
“Cappie why don't you get that looked at and perhaps have a quick snack, I am sure you can locate a willing donor for an early dinner.” Silently speaking just to Cappie mind using telepathy, so that he would not be overheard. “Stay close. You may be needed to remove a body later.”
Returning his attention to the Lycanthrope. He cleared his throat taking a sip of the liquid. Before he began.
“Lord, you know, you disappoint me. I have watched you grow into your power every sense you came to L.A yet not once have you came to me to introduce yourself. Perhaps no one had taught you the rules? Ah well you are here now so we can have our introductions,”
Pausing to take a sip of the blood.
“You know I have heard a lot about you, not just the street level drivel that is rumored by the uninformed. Let’s start with a softball. What can you tell me about this new drug that is laced with Vampire blood that is touching San Diego?”
Nicholas sat back as he watched Lord with hungry predatory eyes. Wondering what his answer would be.

Cappie took the hit for two reasons. One he was actually caught a little off guard that the lion would attempt such a quick reprisal. Two he had to admire a man willing for honors sake to take a shot no matter what the fallout could be. It was a lost bit of integrity he didn’t think anyone mortal living still managed to maintain. So even as the door cracked under the assault of his thick skull Cappie’s face tore open in the brightest smile. He would enjoy teaching the lion a little respect to go with his brazen nature. It was only Nicholas speaking both aloud and mentally that stayed his hand. He could have ignored the Master of the City but he was no longer at sea.
“As ya wish Nicholas.” Was Cappie’s response even as he seriously considered at least snatching the lion up by his short and curlies. Or maybe at least unseating him from his arrogant lounging. He managed to stay his hand as he was sure that would end with Nicholas having to assert his ‘dominance’ in one way or another. That way would end in horror for everyone involved. Especially the Lion if the road was tread he would be the first to die and die he would quickly, horribly, and bloodily. “I will visit with your actress should you need me. I spotted her as we entered.” Thoughts aside Cappie smiled brightly even as he felt the first droplets of blood soaking his scalp as the wound began reknitting itself.
He turned on his heel ad left Nicholas with his beast to whatever ends they would arrive at. He knew that should the need arise he could be back within the Masters office in less time than it would take a body to fall.
