Aloysius touched down on the beach under cover of darkness. he'd sailed around the horn and up the coast. He loved the coastline with its inlets, coves and hidden ports. Sadly in this age of constant contact and technological advances fewer and fewer were as out of contact as they once were. Some were moving back towards anonymity but most had been discovered used and protected as if the world was still one of canvas and black powder. It made moving booty a good deal more difficult. Luckily the market for ill gotten gains never dwindled. He'd steered the sloop into the cove an hour ago. It had taken him that long to dispose of the crew they were a salty bunch and as close to real men of the sea as he had seen in quite a few years. He hated having had to end their lives but this haul was dangerous enough for him to know of. Humans would sure as the Sun could give one whit of a fig as to what happened on earth spill the beans.
The drop wasn't for another two days but he couldn't be on land without hailing the local monster of the city. He'd managed to escape most of the hullabaloo of courts and such but as he was hoping to weigh anchor here for a longer spell he would have to dust off his polite face so as to play nicer than he actually was. Making his way to the Oviatt building He threw open the door and stalked into the club looking for someone who looked as if they were smarter than the crease on their pants.

Nicholas sat in the his private suite overlooking the club, he was currently looking at the Enquire, He had 's for to five others just like it. Nicholas poured over the rags weekly looking to see which stars were being slowly pushed out of the limelight. The stars that were being reinvented on the national stage and the ones who's ride to stardom was slowly crashing. The rags told stories much like the tea leaves one just needed to know where to look. Mrs. Engal's star seemed to be on the rise, as a tea leaves shown her being caught with a more well know star out eating. That brought a smile to Nicholas's face, his little spy was nesting herself nicely. The air in the building changed, it was as if a tidal wave rolled in and smothered the energy's of all of Nicholas's vampires. Closing the magazine, Nicholas looked over the edge of the banister. There stood a man that the darkness rolled away from. The man smelled of the sea, and of blood. Nicholas liked one but had but disdained the other. He hadn't any good experiences with that particular lady, as such he stayed in his place and she stayed in hers. Nicholas nodded to the vampire that was looking for direction. The vampire would lead the elder vampire up to Nicholas where they could talk in private.

Cappie sniffed the wind or more precisely he inhaled the pungent smell of pride, rage, blood and far too much expensive cologne. Newly famous, newly rich looking to be seen all packed into the place to be seen. Last time he was actually here that was the Arcadian club across town but things change he accepted and kept right on moving. As the peon came over he nodded and made his way up the stairs to the Master of the cities web. He could feel the rage settling over him and he smiled. It had been a long time since he was in the company of one of the Dragons children. They made fine boarders but were too calculated to really enjoy the ocean.
Mounting the stairs two at a time he settled into the chair crossing his leg one over the other. “Nice place, you have here. Anything need to know so I don’t break anything?” He knew there was a long song and dance that a lot of masters insisted everyone skip to the tune of. He was a fine dancer but he was looking forward to scouting the city laying some tenterhooks into something a little fresher than the swabbies he washed ashore with.

Nicholas smiled as the vampire walked up the stairs, he knew that the person was coming was undead. it was a brother in arms of a type. not to mentions he felt powerful he was at the very least as old as he was perhaps even more so. Nicholas watched the man as he entered with his energy, He didn't match any of the lines. nothing permeated from behind his shields. Who was the progenitor of his line Nicholas thought to himself. He was caught flat footed, he would have to expect the worst and assume the best. With his warmest smile Nicholas accepted the compliment, although Nicholas by nature was wary of strangers who paid in compliments.
"Well that would depend on your plans. If you are just passing then, make no children or leave no bodies in your wake. if you plan to be then we have more to discuss."
Nicholas left it open like that so that this new vampire could decide what role he would like to play. The fact that he could breathe on his own mean a lot. It meant that he was his own master and he could freelance on his own, it also meant that he could be strong enough to try to take the city from him, Nicholas was curious but weary of new and powerful travelers.

Aloysius knew he was being sized up but he didn’t mind it was the nature of life amongst the dead. It was why he generally took to the sea. That and he loved being the last of the great pirates. Not that he could ever truly divulge what he did as that would be spilling beans no one could eat. He hated waste so there was that. Sitting forward uncrossing his legs he rested his elbows on his knees as he met the Master’s gaze. He poked lightly at the man’s shields letting him know that he was not a threat but would not be taken lightly.
"A port of call is not something I’ve had in good little while and as my business brings me I’d like to parlay and maybe come to terms."
Sitting back he allowed his gaze to flit around the room before coming back to the center of attention. “I like your city it smells of potential. I do. But, if I am to stay I suppose we should dispense with the formalities of an oathing and me swearing to be on my best behavior. Though I am only good at carousing, trouble, and fighting so maybe my best wouldn’t be a great choice of words. Maybe I should swear to not trouble you too much and keep from mucking things up spectacularly. I am Aloysius Pierce, at your service.”

Nicholas was surprised at how forward the sailor was, in a way it was refreshing. Nicholas dared not hope that his luck was finally changing. the city for all the glitz and glamour was a fraud that he perpetrated on the masses. it was the city built on Glamour, but that was because the city was a wasteland. Nicholas thought that he would waste away here he would rot as very little came that far west, and what little filtered that far even the lion's share of that diverted itself away from his city. It was as if he was both cured an curse by his own legend.
"Well let's go ahead and began the process we can make this as quick and painless as possible."
While Nicholas knew he could breathe on his own that level of power meant that he had to be constantly vigilant, at this moment this vampire could possibly over though Nicholas it would be best not to allow this creature to have free reign to Nicholas's back at least until he could be sure that the man could be trusted, with a smile, Nicholas looked towards the door the vampire disappeared and a short time later reappeared with a blade and a small rocks glass.
"Shall we begin?"

Cappie slapped his knee as his face lit up with a mischievous glint. He liked this Maroon Master. It had been a long time since a master even considered accepting his offer of oathing. Most were wary as he was far too healthy to not be oathed to anyone else. He knew a secret that even yoked to the his maker that if he sailed far enough the bonds would break. They would unmoor, wither, and die. He however wouldn’t so long as he stocked provisions well enough. He always did and replenished at every port of call. Strangely enough even as he did his best to be honest and forthright he was always greeted with suspicion. Yes for those few who remembered his name he was a handful. But an honest one all the same.
"No times like the present, but before we jump into this binding of my soul to yours can I at least have your name? I mean it won’t change anything but it would help with the memories I’m about to share."

Nicholas laughed softly to himself. He must seem overly anxious to have visitors, it was most welcomed and yet somewhat odd that all the different preternatural beings all began flooding the city at the same time. He made a mental note to start keeping tabs on the influx of people as they began entering the city if they had not left within a week.
"I really must apologize, had thought my people had informed you of who I was. My name is Nicholas. "
He smiled in expectation of having more powerful members returning to the city. restoring the city back to its former glory. It was one of many hopes that were ground out during the many years of exile. He had finally gotten used to his solitude and was willing to rule an empty kingdom, however he was more than happy to trade his empty kingdom for one that was filled with enough power that it would cow the weaken Arcadians.
"So tell me more of yourself, Aloysius I can smell the sea from the pores of your skin."
It was fairly obvious that whatever he did at sea it required long periods of time away from people, he often wondered how he was able to feed nightly on a boat without willing donors, as well as him working at night only must have been equally difficult. He looked forward to his tale of how he accomplished these feats.

"Perhaps they did but I wouldn’t take their words anymore than if they’d called ya a less than polite name so why would I take their name at all. Nicholas it’s a pleasure to meet you. And yes I spend a good bit of time on the waves helps to clear the senses; its invigorating, the waves that is."
He wanted to ask where all the Arcadians were but kept from bringing up the fae less they materialize and begin wreaking their normal beautiful tragedies. He could take them or leave them but he loved their parties. It was fun to be had by all so long as you held onto what good sense god gave ya to start with.
"As for more there really isn’t that much more to share in advance of getting to know one another, well there is one I suppose. I mean no one here harm and intend to neither threaten, promise, nor fulfill any violence save what I need to remain unmolested."
Of course just because he wasn’t intending any violence didn’t mean that none would take place. He actually hoped someone would be foolish enough to try their hand at him. That would be their last mistake. Almost as bad as the fae who thought he was a buggerer. Insults were given and while the bone blade he used was wickedly honed it was no match for Aloysius. In fact it proved just the ticket to prod him on to getting some real savagery out of his system. Course if the pedarist was still around there would surely be blood. Judging by the lack of him or his cronies about Aloysius thought the likelihood slim.

“Well whenever you come to port as long as we both find it mutually beneficial your second home is L.A. I am not foolish enough to think that your first home would be anything but your ship. Your father is Poseidon.”
Nicholas knew that it took a certain type of person to be a sailor. They happily gave their soul over to the seas and the life of being on the open waves, it was not a profession as much as it was a lifestyle. Nicholas could understand the principles of it, but he was just not of that ilk. The only travelling that he would be willing to do would be by car. Even the idea of a plane was somewhat distasteful as he would have to leave his city and he just could not see a reason for that.
“I suppose your right time would reveal all we need to know of one another. So have you explored the city?”
He asked as reports had come in that more than Sasha had entered the city. And Nicholas was curious to see who else had come to the city and what their motives were. While he would interfere directly in the affairs of the lycanthropes unless one party or another requested a dispute be settled or civic upheaval was created. But so far he knew of the bikers, needing a reminder of L.A was a play nice city. A lion that second powerful lion popping up. As well he had heard of a nest settling in.

“I carry my home in my heart. But I savvy yer meaning.” Quaffing the draught of blood Cappie stood bowing from the waist. He pulled his aura in as tight as he could; holding on to his memories as if he were the very soul of a drowning man lost at sea. He knew that accepting this bond would tie him whether Nicholas was strong enough to be a true Master or not. As any sailor worth his salt never forgot it was the ties that bound. Knots were the life’s blood of any ship. He was curious as to what sort of captain Nicholas would be when e storms came.
He knew what many did not. His maker and his makers maker was in fact still amongst the living. While she was not active not nearly as much as she had been even in the last few score of centuries. He could still feel the pull of her darkness occasionally. It was as wane as watered grog yet it was there like an itch that could not be scratched. Yet it was there. It was the secret that the living remainders of her line carried with them as a cross. It weighed like the combined weight of Sisyphus’s labor and Prometheus’s load.
“I have but not since the sign has been changed. I stick to the lowlands and wash out with the tides before anyone knows I was ever really here. This time is different as my cargo can’t be offloaded for a few months. At least not safely. I was hoping to scout around tonight some with your leave, of course.”

Nicholas gave a curt nod to Aloysius. He knew that the sailor understood what he was saying, once a sailor always a sailor. While most Masters would not suffer someone who would come and go with the tide Nicholas understood and could even find uses for a person who was in motion. While those plans would not be useful for quite some time, they would valuable in the future. Aloysius being a traveler mean he knew how to get from place to place without either being seen or being harassed. Either would be useful when Nicholas needed something or someone moved.
"You are welcome to see what the city has to offer.."
Nicholas knew that the sailor had strength and years of age, if he ran afoul of something dangerous he would be able to handle it. If he could not than perhaps Nicholas was giving the sailor more credit than he deserved. Nicholas was often glacially slow to render a final judgment but his verdicts were often time exceedingly brutal, which was why the rumors persisted that was mercurial in nature. He would give the sailor all the room he needed to either hang himself or to show his worth, both would be handled accordingly.

Returning Nicholas nod with a bow of his own Cappie smiled knowing that even shielded Nicholas was surely picking up a stray thought or three. He focused on a few of the ladies he’d met time with as a shield against any sort of deep probe. Even most vampires tended to blush at too much sensuality. He smirked as he thought of a scarlet tressed vampire who was one hell of a hellion. He might even consider taking a trip down to Miami if he could be sure she was still this side of the veil. Trouble though she was it would be a shame if she wasn’t alive yet.
"Thank ye for that. Any place in particular to find a draught of less aged vintage and maybe a fine lass to while away a few hours. Been a spell since I was last aground while being made welcomed instead of stealing my welcome, if ye savvie."
Turning on his heel Aloysius began to take his leave then stopped. Turning back he fixed Nicholas a look that said more than he ever would aloud. Instead he voiced, “I’m very glad to be welcomed so openly. I won’t forget how painless you made this beginning step.” Then pouring on more speed than he should have he sprinted away leaving a gust of wind in his wake. The night was as young as he was old, so he wanted to age it a bit and make himself at home.

"I understand Aloysius, and welcome feel free to see the city as one of the vampires who belong. As long as I live and you can follow the rules of the city you have a place in the city. "
Nicholas nodded as the sailor began his trek out into the night. another strong preternatural entering the city, this rate if the influx could continue, the Arcadians would need to think about a different location to live. At the very least they would need to go lick their wounds, Nicholas left them bruised and battered, as well as their egos, which was why they were keeping a low profile. If a few more were to come powerful people were to come in with the intent to stay, L.A could rise from the ashes.
"I think you might want to look downtown at a few different venues, I would weigh anchor and let the wind carry you. but a new club is being designed, should be open in a week or so, I think you might find it interesting as well as it may be helpful to me to vet the lion who owns it tell me if he is worthy to stay in city or not."
Giving Aloysius his first task it would be a fine test to see who is where, and what tools he had at his disposal.
