Aminta had no idea what was going on with the longwinded rambling explanation by the Master of the City. He managed to keep his aura in check but there was something feral about it all the same. Feral not so much as predatory it was as if she was the only one feeling the subtle changes. She looked from Sasha to Nicholas and back. While on the surface they seemed tto peacefully talking but Aminta sensed something else in the spaces in of their words.
Sasha was declaring her and her Pride free of the Masters machinations whatever they might be. The Master was saying he hadn’t begun to, yet and that she would have no choice in the matter. Aminta wasn’t slow on the uptake but she knew that this conversation wasn’t for her. She was a blowing tumbleweed she wasn’t the sort to have roots. She had places to hide and lay low but she didn’t have a home. Sasha offered her a place more than that and perhaps less. She wasn’t sure but she was sure it was a bad break spitting even by accident in the Master of the Cities face. It would make things more difficult than they needed to be. A hard road was ahead but a part of Aminta was suddenly torn. She didn’t want Sasha to face whatever it was alone. She knew that it was a foolish impulse but all the same it was there.
"This pizza is to die for. If the rest of the restaurants here as good I think I will stay around. I mean if its not any trouble to you Sasha. I have enough saved up to not work for a little while and I think a city could only profit by neutral parties who are willing to stay out of vampire business and not make a mess of things…"
She was offering herself up as a target to either or potentially both of their tempers as a way to keep the two strong leaders from targeting one another. It was a simple strategy but it was usually successful. She hoped it wold be this time as well. She didn’t like sticking her neck out for nothing.

Sasha knew she had jumped ahead in the conversation so far forward that even she had to wonder why she hadn't waited longer. It would have come up but she wasn't exactly known for being patient. Anybody that knew her could and frequently said the same, it was a bad habit of hers that she hoped to break but so far no luck. Shaking her head at the vampire she tsked and laughed only a little. "First off I didn't say you were playing games, I just told you that I don't play. Maybe at a later date you can change my mind about that? And as for Aminta," she gestured to the other lioness "I would not have faulted her for not seeking me out. Actually before you arrived we had already spoken about that but my reasoning was that she was unlikely to know I was here. Indeed she was surprised to see me so I was not wrong. Now yes from now on there will be consequences for others that do not greet me so I can see your point. Now if you feel the need to punish me then by all means I wont stop you but I also have never dealt with vampires. I was always told to stay out of their way so you are my first experience." Cringing on the inside at what he might say next she kept herself steady on the outside.
Looking at Aminta she shook her head ever so slightly. She really didn't want the woman to risk herself just because Sasha would rather the vampires be staked out in the sun then told what she could or couldn't do. She was a lion after all and as such they were well known for their pride and most times it was hard to swallow. Later she would thank Aminta for what she was doing but she couldn't allow her to get hurt. "If you would like to stay you can. Just remember what I said earlier and you'll be fine." She looked questioningly at the vampire. "A purge of that magnitude? When did this take place? I wonder why its taking so long for people to come back."

Nicholas smiled slightly at her words. As she was willing to accept responsiblity for her actions, Nicholas could not help but admire her moxie. Nicholas followed Sasha eyes as she looked over to Aminta. She was already protecting the lesser lioness. That was exactly what Nicholas was looking for to repopulate the city, it was leaders like her that he was needing, to help defend the city, as the Arcadians were not going stop trying to rid the city of all preternaturals so leaders who would be willing to do what was needed as well as protect their people are what Nicholas needed to rebuild the city stronger. than it was before.
"Why don't we table that punishing you a moment. As this is not a official visit, this is just a meeting of two of the cities leaders. Normally it is good practice to not interfere with a focused vampire." His thoughts turned dark when she mentioned the purge that took place. it was one of the few times that he was bested by the Arcadians. He fumed as his thoughts went back to that year. His voice turned introspective as he said the next portion, as his proof was nil, however even if he was proven right, The Arcadians hands were mostly clean.
"Well your little lion seems worldly enough that she could have seen some of what I am about to tell you at least from the outside..."
He looked over to Aminta. "Stop me if this seems familiar."
Looking back over to Sasha, inhaling a breath that he did not need.
"Back in 07 Vanderbilt with the support of the Arcadians turned this place into a war zone. What lycanthropes survived scattered. Vanderbilt had a hand in getting the last Rex outed killed just so that there wouldn't be an organized Pride from San Diego to San Francisco, all of that space is open and used as a buffer from himself to San Francisco, So understand he will be looking at you once someone mentions your pride."

Aminta blatantly played tennis with her eyes as she bounced from Sasha and Nicholas. Her being called out on perhaps knowing of the assault on LA as played out though gossip she swallowed though there was nothing there to swallow went cold. She thought back to what she knew of the last few years on the west coast and she wasn’t happy to dredge up those memories. She had lost a lot of fences and middle men because of the dust kicked up. She had until eight months ago did her best to not do any business near southern Cali. She still had not run into her buddy Sam not that she was going to San Diego to find her. She attempted to make herself smaller but as she was unsuccessful she stuffed her face nodding as the Master of the city gave the readers digest cliff notes version of what had killed more lycanthropes in southern Cali than the a month of varmint hunters in OKC. She was of a mind that the real predators of lycanthrope society were lycanthropes. It was why she tried to stay mobile and as invisible as she could.
Aminta smiled finishing her mouth of food. "It was pretty bad but I am a youngen. That was ahead of my time. A little. Though I had a buddy that said it was needed I think whatever was going on in this area made the Oriens Astrum need to strengthen their borders. To protect themselves they went a little overboard but ya know every monster has their closet." It was bad that Aminta was speaking up for the San Diego Pride but she understood how bad fear could make someone overreact. She thought back on her first few years and how many beds she hopped in and out of to protect her neck. It wasn’t the best of times but she learned how to survive. Not only survive but thrive. It seemed Sasha needed those lessons but perhaps not in the same way.
