Ghost leaned against his bike. He was riding his speed bike. Not that anyone would ever know this from his road bike. Both were painted black on black with dark purple neon under chassis lights with a lighter black grim reaper painted on each side. As per expected his opponent laughed at Ghosts bike. He was an open secret that most regular riders had no idea existed. His bike was also free of the normal frills bells and whistles. The engine was a modified 1340 cc, 4 stroke, four cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC, 16 valve. The inline four on the floor meant he was usually a mile ahead of his opponents before they knew he was even gone.
As non-descript as his bike was he used another layer of anonymity with his tinted helmet. He rarely removed it when racing now was no exception. He listened to the jack ass bragging to his friends about all of the drinks they would have with the ten stacks he was about to win. Ghost chuckled swinging onto his bike. Nodding to Shango and his posse he smiled laughing to himself. The run was down to San Fernando to the abandoned mental facility and back. An eighty mile run normally it would take a regular driver an hour each way. Ghost knew he could make the run in twenty minutes. Looking at his competitor’s bike he laughed harder. He was riding a modified BMW K 1200 he wasn’t fooling everyone with his Super Blackbird engine.
The man was dust ghost saluted Shango as the flag girl walked to the starting position walking his bike the line he started it with a roar that to the attuned ear was his competitors death knell. He was already ten stacks richer the other man just didn’t realize it. The flag dropped and the girl clutched her ears as both bikes took off with a leap. Ghost kept the throttle just open enough to stay in the mans wake. He coasted along keeping his speed a hair behind the maniac who wanted to end as a stain on Mt. Wilson road. It was a winding two lane that had eaten more riders and drivers than any other racing history. He smiled then grit his teeth as he realized Shango was attempting to make sure the challenger wouldn’t be walking away. Damn him. Ghost thought he wasn’t here to act as assassin merely to teach a lesson and come out of this a few stacks closer to his goal.
He’d planned on coasting in the man’s wake until they reached the closed asylum. Changing tactics he eased alongside the man watching him. The oncoming truck drew his moment to a close as he kicked into higher gear passing the man by with nary an extra thought. No one deserved to have their last ride be a planned assassination. To draw this to close with as little bloodshed as possible Ghost tore off down the road moving from ninety to one-hundred then really opening up once he hit 134. From there he was humming at two hundred. The traffic was nothing more than a blur of lights by the time he’d hit the 101 merging onto Van Nuys he dropped the gas coasting through the turn at Oxnard sliding into a full 180 he waved at the SOA’s gathered to see who would be the first to arrive.
Kicking back into full gear he tore off through back up Van Nuys passing his competitor at the 101 merge. He wasn’t worried until bullets whizzed by the idiot instead of at least finishing wanted to make sure that neither did Ghost. He couldn’t have the idiot shoot anyone else but he wasn’t feeling becoming a holey target of a road smear. Taking to swerving Ghost eased off the speed braking suddenly so as to throw off his aim. As expected the idiot who didn’t even deserve a name didn’t swerve wide. Ghost lashed out with the baton he kept at his knee on his chassis sending the gun flying from his hand and breaking the hand that held the gun. Ghost was good but even he would have a hard time riding with a busted paw. Sheathing his baton he skidded righting his ride speeding away. He didn’t spare a second thought as he raced back to the finish.
Sliding to a stop past the line he coasted to Shango for his money. He wasn’t going to stick around as this seemed like more trouble than he had signed on for.

Dawn wasn't sure bout the one guy but the other she had seen around before he was a serious jerk. She shook her head watching the take off the mystery racer was doing like she would you couldn't keep a bike throttled for long distance. Once your speed topped out you couldn't get any faster, but idiots would be idiots. She didn't need to know who would make the turn first she knew who would win barring some strange ..
Were those gunshots? She paused and shook her head looking at the the man holding the cash he seemed nonplussed by the goings on. When it was indeed mister hide his face she smirked and called out." That was almost too easy I think he is kinda a gravel for brains maybe you need smarter competitors"
Walking for her own street bike the 67 pan head black with purple and pink ghost flames over the Anarchy symbol. Leg slid over and hair flipped back she slid her own bowl style helmet on her head. Kick starting and making to leave shed seen all she needed to tonight or so she thought.

Smirking at him she nodded and got her bike rolling, she knew all about cops and shots fired didnt have to draw her a sign for her to know it was time to go. Reving and shifting up as she got onto the road headed away from the bikes and cops not putting to much speed on at first because speeding away would make them want to turn and give chase. D knew with out looking back he'd catch up and maybe even pass but at least they were both headed away from trouble..so she assumed.
Not knowing who he was but knowing he was smarter then most made her ok with this turn of events and if all else failed she kept her hand cannon in her saddle bag. It was at times fairly dangerous to be a female and she knew it first hand, so until he showed her she couldn't trust she would but soon as it turned she had no intention of being another victim. The trees and scenery started to blur and her hair like red wine streamers flicked out behind her. Smiling as her machine purred hard under her frame soothing her spirit.
She almost forgot he was there except for the roar of his engine. Smirking again thinking of the fact shed almost not come tonight some dumb party at some bar she didn't want to be working at, she could take a night off or two perhaps.

Ghost liked that she didn’t panic. It made him wonder what sort of life she led that sirens and angry bikers didn’t have her batting an eye. Probably one as convoluted as his. After all she was on the side of a mountain at twelve forty in the morning. He laughed to himself easing into her shadow. Ntil they were down the otherside of Lukens and nearly to the 101. Pulling alongside he motioned towards his watch yelling over the nearly synchronous roar of their engines. “Breakfast beer?”
Not waiting he eased ahead of her leading the way to an out of the way bar he infrequently frequented. It was a good little place though the owners had turned over twice in the last fifteen years. They stayed open late and gave their full menu including alcoholic beverages. It didn’t hurt that the hotel they were attached to also served as a brothel. They were literally making money hand over fist. He’d yet to try any of the girls though on some lonely nights he’d been tempted.
Instead of making new mistakes on those nights he tended to make the old ones in newer ways. Thinking about the Japanese girl he’d ran with while her husband was off in the services made his skin crawl. She was a nice enough girl but she was as flighty as butterflies in a stiff wind. Shaking images of Mariko out of his head he poured on a little speed to getthere before the late night wolves showed up. He wasn’t a heavy drinker and that crowd was not for the faint of drink. Their drunkenness was infectious. He could not have another night where he woke up out in the desert. Walk of shame was nothing compared to the ride of shame.

So he was gonna take off the helmet? She was game for that and nodded in time for him to pull away, she laughed into the wind but then fallowed easily. He was a confident rider confidence was important in her world. Though she wondered what he looked like she didn't wonder who he was because bikers came in all types cops doctors drug dealers and those that blended two or more of those worlds.
Having passed the place a time or to but never been in it, it got a cursory glance. Doing one extra loop through the lot before she parked next to him backing into a space carefully. Keys off and out kick stand down she slid off, lately there had been trouble with them wearing the colors out in mass so her kutte was tucked away under a simple black hoodie with angel wings in rhinestone on the back. Skinny black jeans rode low on her hips and were saved from immodesty by the deep red handkerchief hem tank top under the Kutte but over her bra.
Fallowing him in, still mostly looking at the back of his head for now while he found a table or spot at the counter to sit at then shed get a good look at him and try to sort him out in her mind.

Sitting at the counter as it was the best place to watch his bike as well as the street he settled in unzipping his jacket and taking of his gloves. He ordered a water and three beers to start if she didn’t like beer there would be time for something else. She was flying colors but on the low he spotted her battle jacket underneath her hoodie and knew that the MC she was with. He was a lone operator so he flew no colors bowed to no flag in short he wasn’t a joiner. He knew that her brothers would have a thing or two to say about him associating but he didn’t really give a damn about those sorts of things. It wasn’t as if he was asking her to marry him. It was breakfast and a little conversation.
At last taking off his helmet he sat it on the counter on his left leaving room on his right for her. He smiled another hello. He wasn’t what most expected when they heard of Ghost. He’d shot down more riders than his young years would seem to allow. Of course he’d been riding in one form or another since his teens. That never really seemed to factor into most peoples appraisals. The few hardcore racers that knew him were still shocked when he dropped the hammer. He was sure she had similar experiences. While it was a young person’s game most were surprised that a streak like his could be accomplished so cleanly and without any affiliations.
Once she settled in he spoke. “Names Ghost. What do you want to eat?” he said as he slid a beer her way.

Dawn wasn't one to give a rip bout what her brothers said they were all a bunch of jerks any how when it came to protecting what they saw as theirs but she wasn't any ones ol lady so they could kiss off. Watching him and settling in the spot he left her. Beer was fine with her and she accepted the one slid to her he was sort of cute but not her usual so there wasn't that mm yep gonna get some of that thoughts going on for her right then. Leg crossing she shucked both Kutte and hoodie laying them on her lap, her upper back bare. The top of a heart made of chains and beads and bisected by an anatomical spine down hers could be seen.
Lifting her glass to him" Dawn but most know me as D or D-rock and a southwestern scramble with rye toast and bacon sounds good to me"
Tasting the beer and nodding it was ok beer nothing spectacular but not dishwater either. Eyes on him the color of clover honey, head tilted" so how do you know Shango?"
Shango had a rep but so did the ghost, this was truly her lucky night because she knew not many saw this mans face and here she was getting the full brunt of it. She had her own little rep as well but she want sure he heard of her, she was known to be able to set anything ablaze and drive almost anything on two or four wheels.

Ghosts brow shot skyward as she shucked her battle vest. She wasn’t what he would have expected from the illustrious D-rock. D-rock was who anyone in the world went to when something absolutely needed razing. He’d watched a few of her jobs go up and pressed suit against a few of her other jobs. The police could never make the connections between one job or another but he knew where to look for the bodies, money trails, and occasionally hard feelings were buried. Nothing he could prove definitively but knowing she was involved always led him to the source.
Saluting her back he took a swig. "Me and Shango go back to when I rode off-road. Actually its funny he was the one who came up with the helmet thing. We were over at an under twenty one when a bunch of other riders tried giving us shit. Called us a bunch of spooks and other silly racist shit. So he speaks up yea you all got beat by Papa Shango and the riding Ghost. We end up getting our asses kicked but we hospitalizing three of the other riders ended up closing down that circuit. We would ride through every race rashing at least two riders each race. We ended up banned and as that was how I was living at the time I started racing for cash. Shango backed me a few races but he joined a club and we stopped working together."
Nodding as the waitress sat their orders down in front of them." Question is how do you know Shango ? You live in the same world but form what I know you move in different circles never heard of you in the drug game."
Leaving that question he took a swig killing his beer. Sitting his bottle on the back lip of the counter he dived in to his meal.

Having watched his reaction it was priceless and she bit her bottom lip, listening to him about Shango and his old times. Yeah some clubs still tended to be a bit narrow minded bout color and she knew how close the one she was in had been to being that but she had impressed the home charter and been allowed to patch then move up with her talents. Those razings were all carefully orchestrated, symphonies of flame that often enough got her hot as well. Smirking in thought at one in particular then hearing him as she dug into her breakfast.
Chewing thoughtfully she finished her beer and tapped for another then looked at him" I'm not but some of the brothers are what they do for side cash is them but they bring him round enough I know his face what he does and who hes with for the most."
She raced and razed for side cash it was enough to live on but to keep her self looking legit she tended bar at little fetes around hollywood known in those circles as the blazin barista. The red hair and fire show she gave her clients while mixing up delicious drinks netted her a fair bit. Every one in LA seemed to like a show. She could put on a fairly good one with her fire hula hoop and flaming shots.

Ghost grunted as he spotted a circle of lights creeping up the road. Meant the late nighters were on the way. He was normally gone far enough ahead of them that he was usually not caught up in their carousing. Sadly they would know the his ride. In certain rcles it was like catching sight of a four leaf clover. He hoped that the crew riding in were more interested in catting away their money than rubbing elbows. Sadly he was wrong as they came into the lot they circled and backed in near their rides.
Judging by their colors they were up from Santa Monica. He spotted the red grinning face of Loki as they dismounted. He wasn’t worried overly much until he spotted more than one one percenter in their mix. They were a war party. They were here to get blackout drunk and tear somebody a few new holes. Cursing under his breath he looked to the waitress signaling her to the coming arrivals. She needed to louse the place up and quick. She nodded heading back to the kitchen to confer with the cook who obviously was the bouncer as well.
"Well looks like breakfast is going to be more eventful than I thought." He said notifying Dawn of the coming stor. It could either end with every one drunk as skunks or bodies lying out. He ever the prepared one at least in his head loosened the top of the salt and pepper shakers and slid his helmet a hair closer.
The clear leader of the bunch walked in eyeing them both up then stopped looking back at the rides in the lot. Chuckling he said, “Well Lookee here boys we gots tha company of Ghost and D-rock looks like tonigt aint gonna be all pregame afterall.”

D finished her beer looking at him and nodding, she knew what he was getting at. Gun was on the bike but didn't mean she was helpless, Dawn was never helpless. Hearing the bikes pull up she took her last bite of eggs and slid the plate out of reach, feeling and almost smelling the unwashed pits and unbrushed teeth. Most people still showered and , and cared about hygiene but occasionally you got a crew that just didn't care. This one seemed to be one of those and she almost felt sorry for the ol ladies that bedded them frowning at that thought.
Hearing the scrape of boots and then the way they were addressed she kept her self calm no point in letting jerks rile you. She turned on her stool and flicked her hair back fixing the leader with a look. " well since you know who we are and Im flattered by the way who exactly are you? I mean it would be great to know more then how you smell"
Ok maybe she shouldn't tease or antagonise but it never felt right to let any one talk down to her just because they were bigger or more of them. Knives drew blood no matter your size, she even gave him a polite as you please smile.

Ghost dropped his head as they were in fact recognized and not recognized favorably. The Vagos were a club of ne’er-do-wells and violent offenders it made their one percenters by sheer dint of the whole the absolute worse. As Dawn spoke he knew where this was headed before it could get there. Grabbing the salt and pepper shakers in one hand he flipped his grip on his beer swing through the leaders skull. The others were bottle necking the door so he struck for all he was worth. He wasn’t the largest man nor the burliest but when he threw his body behind a punch it counted. As did the beer bottle he wielded like a slapjack. As the leader stumbled past him flicked the shakers at the crowd in the door their heat and close proximity made the pepper far more effective than just coating the air. The salt went a little awry not landing in as many eyes as he hoped. Sparing no time he dropped the shakers snatched his helmet and swung through finishing the big guy off before he soaked the hurt enough to retaliate. The door was blocked. But at least they were dealing with having absorbed far too much pepper to be useful just yet. However, the seconds were ticking by.
Slipping his helmet on he looked to Dawn. She was too pretty to work as a battering ram. Sighing he grabbed the chair from the table their leader was sprawled against. Taking a hopping back step he raised the chair and charged the door keeping his center of gravity low. Having built up speed he leaped the last few feet into the tangle of limbs. Either they’d move or take a chair and man to their ribs head groins he didn’t care so long as they bowled over making a hole. If he was lucky they’d hold just him accountable. If not then they would more than likely be up and down the coast looking for him and Dawn. She was easier to find as her club was notorious. He was literally a Ghost no ties no affiliations nothing more than a name and a ride.

They only thought they wanted a piece of her because to really want it was stupid no matter whose standards you went by. She could destroy their clubhouse and make it look like an accident and then they'd have to face the Son's and all the local and other chapters they had up and down the coast. Still she slipped the black jack out of her boot and flicked it open eyeing them all. Just before the salt and pepper got thrown, looking to him she wanted to laugh but was already moving.
Taking knees on her way towards the door behind him, watching them close leaving pirates in her wake if they made a grab. The guys at the door went out by force and she smiled jumping over them, and sprinting for the bike. She wouldn't kick them over because that was bad form but blowing them up altogether called to her. Not enough time hoodie and Kutte on hair tucked under helmet" so where we going ?"
She'd stick close because he was to interesting to let go right now and this was sorta fun except for the horde of now angry bikers that would probably chase them. Well at least they would have to wait till they could see or walk and who knew how far away they could be by then. She kick started and waited for him to pull out.

He’d left a few sprawled and that had taken a small bit out of him. He wasn’t as young as he once was. Luckily, his ride wasn’t far enough away to need another surge of adrenaline. They were down but not out so he swung onto his bike only to find D-Rock already swinging on her kutte already in place. " La Brea then maybe your place."
He realized how that sounded but it wasn’t what he meant. He knew she could handle herself but some part of him wanted to make sure that she made it at least for the night. Social as he was feeling he still wasn’t inviting her to his place as well he never had anyone to his home. The few people that had gotten close enough to almost merit an invite showed their true colors before he was ever foolish enough to extend the offer and let them close enough.
It was a safety issue and not with his physical self but his mental emotional self that wouldn’t allow him to cross that boundary. That step that would really let anyone know him. One day maybe but not today or any day he could see.

Smirking she took him at his word but assumed nothing, sounded fine to her all her goodies were at her house any how so shed prefer to be there should some one come knocking. Kicking off and throttling down tucking her self a bit low to pick up speed this time she needed to go fast. Heading towards Le brea so they could get lost there and back track toward her meager condo. Knowing he could more then keep up she called a friend. speaker phone through her android" Yea jerks at that hotel out near the mountains started trouble had to drop a couple with a friend heading home but keep your eyes open they were seriously looking to start something probably got beef from two weeks ago...uh huh uhuh alright be safe and ride or die"
Hanging up phone replaced they made it to Le brea in short order she came off the speed some and wove through back streets listening for him behind her or along side the whole way. When they weren't being tailed she cut towards her place. One story condo on a cul de sac, looked like all the other ones on the street except the huge doge pick up in front. She couldn't put it in the garage because her charger was in there. There was room for the bike in bad weather but not much else. She backed the bike in to the garage incase and got off it carefully. Looking to see if he'd park and come in or ride off.
